# 4 Physics Laws That Everyone Should Know

Physics tries to explain to us what is happening in the world by helping us study the objects and the phenomena happening all around us. The major contribution of physics can be seen in electricity and the laws of physics behind it. Another significant use of physics could be seen in flow of water and is termed as fluid mechanics. You are riding your automobiles which are governed by laws of motion. Your household appliances such as refrigerator and air conditioner uses laws of thermodynamics for its operation. “How an apple falls down from the tree instead of going up ?”, this question inspired a young scientist and led him to discover the law of gravitation. You can learn about these laws in NCERT Solutions for Class 8 Science to class 12 Science.

THEORY OF RELATIVITY

Another such equation which is used in the field of physics is the theory of relativity, which goes E=mc2. This equation was given to us by Einstein and which states that matter and energy are equivalent to each other. This theory helped us in understanding the origins and structure of the universe. General relativity shows gravity as a curving and folding of space and time itself. Special relativity shows that the speed of light is the universal speed limit.

THEORY OF UNCERTAINTY

There have been major developments in the field of quantum mechanics and it originated from the theory of uncertainty which was named after the scientist Heisenberg and tells that position and velocity of objects cannot be measured at the same time. The equation is  ΔpΔx≥h4π where, Δ is uncertainty in that variable and h is the Planck’s constant.

LAWS OF MOTION

Another significant discovery of the phenomena was conducted by Einstein and led a massive development of physics by formulating the laws of motion which contains three fundamental laws and can be read in solutions of science NCERT Class 9 and which goes:

• A body continues to be at rest or in motion until an external force acts upon it.
• Every action has an equal or opposite reaction.
• Force equals to mass times acceleration which is represented by F=ma, m= mass of object, a= acceleration

LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS

There were several scientists who did a significant contribution in thermodynamics such as Nicolas Leonard Sadi Carnot who found out the efficiency of the engine which was named after him as Carnot engine. Lord Kelvin discovered the definition of  thermodynamics which is termed as the relation of heat to forces acting on the bodies contagious to each other.
